amaze-balls.

My husband named these little treats amaze-balls. Simply because he loves them, and he thinks they are amazing. But that man thinks anything with chocolate is amazing. I do think they are quite yummy though, and healthy to boot!

I actually made up the recipe on new years, because I wanted to make a quick dessert with whatever ingredients I had - and it has become a staple treat in our household ever since! They are super quick and easy to make, and so yummy. The perfect sweet treat, with some protein, and no processed sugar. Yum. And you can totally play around with this recipe and make it however you prefer.

So here is the recipe. Enjoy!

*Makes approximately 10 balls.

4 tablespoons almond butter
3 tablespoons cocoa powder
1 teaspoon shredded coconut
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 teaspoons hemp seeds
1 1/2 cups chopped dates (soaked in water for 4 - 5 minutes)
pinch of salt

1/2 cup of shredded coconut (for outer layer)

Mix all ingredients in a food processor until it forms a thick paste. Take spoonfuls of the mixture and roll in your palms until round, then roll into shredded coconut. Let cool in fridge for at least 3 hours, and then serve.
