avocado strawberry smoothie
This is my go-to recipe for whenever I feel like I need a treat. It's delicious and nutritious. The perfect combination! You will never feel guilty after having this kind of treat. Even my husband loves it. I feed it to him whenever he has a craving for ice cream (which is a lot!), and this really does the trick for him. I'm expecting it to be a real crowd pleaser with the little one when he's old enough too.
When I make smoothies, I generally just throw stuff into the blender and have at it - so this recipe is just approximated. You can totally add more or less of whatever ingredient and adjust to your taste. So here it is.
1 cup of strawberries (fresh or frozen)
1/3 cup of raspberries (fresh or frozen)
1 tablespoon of honey
1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract (the real shit, people - not the fake vanilla)
1 teaspoon of bee pollen (it's super healthy - look it up. But it's not integral to the smoothie, so if you don't have it, not to worry!)
Approx. 3 cups of Cashew, Almond, or Coconut milk (you really just need enough to cover your dry ingredients. Also, be sure to buy a brand that does not include the ingredient Carageenan, as it is a known carcinogen. We like Silk brand.)
Now blend it all up until smooth, and voila! It's treat time.
