how to mix neutrals.

There is something so chic about mixed neutrals. And as much as I love black...I must say...neutrals come pretty close to being a favourite. The tone on tone look somehow just gives a really soft and put together look to an outfit, without feeling like too much. I am seriously obsessed with this right now. And this scarf - OMG. LOVE IT! (although I did design the print...soo..I am biased) It's from the brand Shai Shanti, and you need to check these scarves out. Super soft and amazing quality and I want the whole collection. Also...this jacket...I can't get enough of the architechtural lines of it...so cool and so soft and amazing. I'm fully planning on layering it over a jean jacket and some big cozy knits for the fall weather.

So if you're looking to layer some neutrals, my tips are to keep it in the same tonal family, so here I've mixed cream and a soft beige. You should also keep texture in mind, because it adds dimension to a basic colour palette, which is what gives the palette some interest. My tee here is a super soft knit, and paired with the texture of the jacket and the soft pattern of the scarf, it really works. With layering, you really just need to play around with what you have. Don't be afraid to try something different! It's all about texture, colour and proportion.

Also, just a note...things have been crazy around here...packing order on orders on orders. Which is great! But I'm a stress case, and I'm sure my printer hate me right now because I'm a picky b!tch sometimes. But that's business, right!?? So look out for more Melo + Co in your local Chapters Indigo, and some amazing little Canadian boutiques! The new notebooks are the bomb too...can't wait to get them on the website. Soon, I promise, because trust me, you want one of these market lists!
